Lauren James is all about seersucker, state pride, and southern style. This women’s lifestyle brand carries their own lines of clothing, gifts, accessories, and now some very clean rides.
Lauren Stokes founded the company in 2013 after rediscovering her love of fashion while on bed rest after giving birth to her son. Lauren is inspired by her son and a desire to develop clothing that is wearable on any occasion. The Fayetteville, Arkansas native strives to capture a look that is unique yet timeless.
What started as an online store in 2013 has spread to retailers in twenty-four states. Last year, Lauren James opened their very first retail store. Check out LJ’s website to see more.
Lauren James reached out to Villy and asked us create a fleet of customized cruisers that would capture the fun, feminine essence of LJ. Together, we came up with a preppy, ultra sleek design and brought it to life. We decided on a beautiful snow white mirror-finish frame with coordinating all-white tires. Their pink LJ logo is featured on the frame and the light pink seat of the cruiser. We did something pretty special for them too—it’s called hydrocoating. We picked a pink pattern that Lauren James uses for its company Land Rovers.
Basically, hydrocoating or hydrodipping is a three dimensional decorating process where an elaborate graphic (in this case, one of Lauren James’ signature pink designs) is applied to a surface (in this case, a cruiser!). A film that contains the printed design dissolves in water and leaves ink on the fenders and handlebars of the bike. There are several coating levels: a primer, the design itself, and a clear topcoat for a polished, smooth look.
The result is fantastic!! Take a look at LJ’s finished Villy fleet.
